Research Interests
Plasma technology is worldwide gaining an increased interest for environmental and energy applications. The central research question is whether plasma-based solutions can yield a valuable alternative (or support) to existing thermal processes. Most work focusses on the physics and engineering, whereas my focus is primarily on the underlying chemical reactions that take place. By relying on a combination of modelling and experimental techniques, I try to gain the necessary insight in the plasmachemical pathways to further improve existing—as well as to find new—applications for plasma-based environmental and energy solutions.
